Dear friends,
Having filed for the office of State Representative to succeed Jim Avery in the Missouri House, who resigned a few months ago to pursue other opportunities, this is an exciting time for me and my family and I hope you will share in our excitement as well! To be successful this fall I need your help!
Important issues that affect us all are going to be on the table in 2009 and beyond that will need to be debated and shaped accordingly.
- Issues like eminent domain and whether or not one's property can be taken by local government simply to increase the tax revenue generated by that property.
- Issues like property tax reform and the role our state will play in this critical issue of unfair taxation.
- Issues that promote job creation, such as offering tax incentives to small business owners who are willing to put their money at risk, so that their companies will expand and become more successful.
These and other important issues were brought up to me by voters in the district as I have gone door-to-door over the last several months. I have become very passionate about several of these issues that I feel must be addressed by the Missouri Legislature next year and this led to the development of my Contract with the 95th Legislative District.
The contract is my pledge to the families of Sunset Hills, Crestwood and all of the residents of the 95th Legislative District; and I urge you to read the contract and provide me with your thoughts and opinions.
I look forward to the campaign, which I will take to every neighborhood and every doorstep in this district in an attempt to meet with as many voters as possible, so that I am prepared to represent this district on the floor of the Missouri House. More importantly, I look forward to representing our common beliefs and values as your next State Representative once elected.
But to be successful in November, I need you help! I need volunteers, contributors and most of all, I need your vote. Please click on the different buttons above that will better introduce myself, inform you of my positions on the issues and my commitment to our community, and give you an opportunity to take action and join my campaign.
By working together, we will be successful on Election Day Tuesday, November 4th. Thank you and I look forward to hearing from you very soon!
Respectfully yours,
Mike Leara
